“Battling Inner Demons: A Story of Survival and Faith in Makati”

It was very odd today, a friend sent me a video of a young man possibly in his 20s who attempted suicide and jumped at the Dela Rosa Ayala walkway in Makati. Thankfully, the Makati police had a fast response and was able to grab him immediately after he fell.

It was odd because the place where he stood, is my favorite place to stop, think, pray, and reflect. Dito ako nag dadasal at nagpapasalamat sa Diyos. I usually stand there, to admire the view and have many photos. It was raining today so I did not go the area.

In my 20s, I had severe depression and there were 2 instances where I attempted suicide. Both failed by the grace of God. It all changed when I finally accepted that there is a Higher power governing everything. Na mayroong Diyos. It took the study and knowledge of the Archangel Michael to lead me back to Jesus Christ.

It does not mean to say that I don’t experience turmoil anymore. Mas maganda lang framing ng mind ko ngayon. When I go to walkways I see the beauty of the city. And I even feel the wind.

It’s hard to battle the mind. There are days akala mo kakayanin ng utak mo. But many days the voices in your head will win — and in those days you need to rely and believe there is a Higher Power watching over you- and that everything that is happening even if you don’t feel or see yet — is indeed a part of a grand design and will be the best option for you towards the end.

I always stand on the other side of that rail. While the man who attempted on his life stood on the other side and decided he just had it with life.

If you have the time let us pray for that young man. Who is in the hospital right now with crushed bones and a crushed spirit. Madaming tao who are struggling right now with their mental health. They might look good to you and put together. Even wearing good looking clothes pero hindi pala tayo okay. Whoever he is — may light enter his heart and mind.

So that, one day he too will also stand in that Makati walkway bridge, breathing a sigh of gratitude — observing the city lights- and telling himself — how wonderful it is to be in this moment — because he finally is connected to that Greater Source of Light that never leaves. — Jesus Christ

The joy that is not in religion, not in organized institutions. Not the Jesus Christ the world has presented — but the Christ that can be found inside your heart and core — because you are never disconnected in the first place.
