“Breaking Free from Envy: Finding Joy & Contentment in Your Own Journey”
When you’re single, you sometimes think that married people or those in relationships are happier. When you’re married, you might believe that single people are more content. When you have children, you may envy successful business people. When you don’t have kids, you might think those with children are the ones who have it all.
If you’re an employee, you might think CEOs or business owners are happier. But when you’re a CEO or business owner, you may envy employees because they can leave work behind and sleep without worrying about the company’s problems, while you carry the burden of payroll and other responsibilities.
If you’re attractive and fit, you might find maintaining your looks tiring and expensive, while feeling you’re not as smart or accomplished as others, just beautiful. On the other hand, if you don’t consider yourself attractive, you might envy and feel insecure about those who are.
This cycle of envy has no end until you correct your mindset. Examine the quality of your thoughts because what you think is better often turns out to have the same challenges, just presented differently.
