SB19 Ken has done it again! Have you seen the official teaser for Felip’s ‘7 Sins’ at Manila and One Ayala? Those who didn’t get tickets will definitely regret it because it’s been meticulously prepared. While some media outlets are busy trying to bring down and erase SB19’s mark, the members of SB19 are busy making more history. Aside from the new hairstyle, everything about this Felip concert is a masterpiece.

I read a thread on Reddit and I have to agree: SB19 is unique because they are willing to take risks, especially Felip. They don’t repeat the same formula. Besides being able to rearrange “Gento” multiple times so listeners don’t get bored, they’re also willing to create something from scratch, raw and heartfelt. Felip, in particular, isn’t afraid to release songs like “Moving Closer” and then suddenly give us “Rocksta,” and then put on a theater-like concert. It’s a full performance with so much love and work put into it.

One major difference with them is that they’re not boxed into candy pop; they are actual writers and composers of their own albums. The courage is incredible. Felip knows that his work isn’t everyone’s cup of tea — memorizing the lyrics and understanding the depth of his music isn’t easy — but he’s going full force with immense masculine energy. It’s pure drive and expression that inspires. The album is fearless and will take time to digest, so it’s not for the faint-hearted. His fans describe his album as both delicious and heartbreaking, especially with songs like “Greed” and “Ache,” which are so honest that you’ll question just how much is inside this artist. He has so much to share. The album is full of emotions, and I appreciate that he is focused — his work is laser-sharp and not scattered. To create a masterpiece, he doesn’t need to waste time with too many guest appearances. He knows where to channel his energy so that those who have supported him and SB19 from day one can truly enjoy.

This performance is for the fans, and he’s pouring his heart and soul into it. The entire album is an epic tale, and he made sure that the concert stage, celebrity guests, and overall look are all on point. He adds a touch of magic by bringing in the electric guitar, which, by the way, is a signature of Michael Jackson. This shows the perfectionism in their work — music, voice, tone, style, concept. Even if Felip isn’t always visible to fans outside, he shows his love for them through his music and concept. You can really feel the sincerity and the give-back.

Remember, Felip is just one member of SB19, and there are four more who have so much to offer. This is why they truly opened the golden age of Pinoy Pop. It’s not to disregard the artists who came before them, but they have worked incredibly hard, and it would be unfair to compare them with any group known for just a few songs. SB19 is on a different level. While the industry space is broad and there’s no need to pull each other down, we should avoid comparing them to others because they are on a whole different level — even in their stage presence. What we need to do is continue praying and supporting to ensure that this level of artistry remains high. We are truly blessed in this day and age to have Felip and SB19. To God be the highest glory!
