It’s Just a Feeling that I had

The impermanence of so-called feelings of love

One of the oddest parts of growing old and thinking you’re in love is realizing that it was just a phase or a passing feeling. No matter how strong your emotions may be, life goes on — time waits for no one. With so many things happening and the constant ebb and flow of life, you keep rowing your boat, yet the waters simply take you somewhere else.

Eventually, you barely remember how it felt, catching only fleeting glimmers of that emotion. In short, you merely thought you were in love. It passes you by if you don’t act upon it, and time will eventually force it out of the equation. We all just want to feel something sometimes, but that doesn’t mean we need to act on every emotion.”
