Let’s admit it, whether you’re an SB19 fan or not, it’s something to be proud of whenever SB19 represents us in other countries. Just recently, SB19 had the opportunity to perform on a major Taiwanese show called Atom Boyz. It’s true, their hit song “Gento” even has its own world tour. The popularity of “Gento” hasn’t faded, making this Filipino pop hit truly timeless.

SB19 was invited to Taiwan not just as guest performers, but also to serve as inspirations for future boy groups watching. They are regarded as Elite Mentors in Taiwan. So, despite receiving criticism in their own country, this guest appearance in Taiwan proves that on a global stage, they are highly respected. Taiwanese artists describe SB19 as having stable live vocals and admire them for creating and writing their own music. Taiwanese boy groups look up to them, seeing them as daring and out-of-the-box. SB19 was invited so that they could share tips on how to be creative. The story of SB19 and how they emerged wasn’t easy; as Pablo has said, “Ama, ikaw ang Agimat” (Father, You are the Talisman). The Philippines is a tough arena for musicians, with many boy groups trying to debut but fizzling out. There’s something special about SB19. As Pablo says, “Ama, ikaw ang Agimat.”

What sets them apart the most is that they give glory to God. Both Pablo and Ken are vocal about their belief in a higher power, the Lord Jesus Christ. They are also humble and willing to practice over 10,000 times to perfect a technique.

In the Atom Boyz 2 episode in Taiwan, did you notice how the visuals of SB19 seemed even stronger? They looked good before, but why do they keep getting more handsome over the years? Their styling and hair were on point. Although SB19 is not new to the industry, they somehow look younger and fresher as time goes by, exuding true masculinity. I really loved Ken’s sporty look with blonde hair and the way his eyes were projected. They all looked so polished, almost like living anime characters. I appreciated that Josh spoke in Tagalog during the show because there was an interpreter present, adding more charm. Their stage presence is truly commanding.

Special mention to Pablo, the leader, during the mall tour when he wore red — he looked even fresher and more handsome, which was very endearing. Over time, SB19 is aging like fine wine. Instead of tiring of them, you become hooked all over again. There’s something impactful about seeing them perform together outside the country — it hits differently in the heart.

As one netizen put it, their performances are very intentional. They focus on creating simple yet cool dance steps so they can match their live vocals with minimal backing track, allowing their voices to be clearly heard, without autotune. It’s also impressive that they use handheld mics, which adds to their stage presence, along with their cool mic tricks. They are so stable that even judges in Taiwan commented that you don’t hear any heavy breathing. It’s smooth and flawless. SB19 is truly hardworking and on another level — unmatched, in a class of their own. They have a relaxing vibe on stage, work hard, let their talent shine, yet remain soulful and humble.
