Recently, an online buzz popped up about why The Voice Kids chose Pablo from SB19 as a coach instead of well-established artists like Rico Blanco or Chito Miranda. It’s natural for these kinds of criticisms to arise, but as an A’Tin who has closely followed SB19’s journey, I’d like to share my thoughts.

SB19’s success isn’t just a local phenomenon — it’s global. Fresh off representing the Philippines in South Korea, their international acclaim is undeniable. Rico Blanco, Chito Miranda, and Bamboo are undoubtedly great artists, but SB19 is the group currently making waves in markets like China and Japan. In fact, their documentary Pagtatag had sold-out screenings in Hong Kong, and Felip’s CDs were sold out in Japan. Pablo, as the leader of SB19, is a crucial figure behind the group’s intense discipline and high-reaching goals.
